It was a busy week here in our nation's capital. In addition to the House passing important pieces of legislation, it was a week full of productive meetings. You can read more about one of these meetings below!


For years, the Biden administration tried to pin inflation on COVID, supply chain problems, and Russia. Then, they told Americans that inflation was a "high class problem." This administration can make all the excuses they want, but we know the truth: it's Bidenomics.

Chemistry in America
 

From medicine to energy, chemistry plays a significant role in American innovation.

It was great meeting with representatives from American chemical manufacturers. I look forward to our continued work together in addressing some of our nation's biggest challenges.
 

Bidenomics is HURTING Americans
 

When President Biden took office, inflation was at just 1.4%. The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a key inflation index, came in "hotter than expected" in March. Overall, inflation is up 19.4% since President Biden took office. Idahoans and Americans nationwide are paying more for just about everything. 


  • Electricity is UP 29.2%.
  • Rent is UP 17.2%.
  • Food prices are UP 21.2%.
  • Eggs are UP 49.3%.
  • Baby food is UP 30.5%.

My Republican colleagues and I will continue in our commitment to doing what it takes to reduce federal spending, balance the budget, and stop rampant inflation.

The message of this letter is simple: we must protect potatoes' place on your plate. 


Any effort to reclassify the potato would be misguided. Packed with essential nutrients like potassium, calcium, fiber, and vitamins, potatoes are a dinner table staple in households across America. As the co-chair of the Congressional Potato Caucus, I strongly oppose any reclassification, and I am proud to stand up against this effort.
