SURVEY: Is the Lava Ridge Wind Project Out-of-Touch with Idahoans?

Dear Idahoan,

The proposal to build a 400-turbine wind-generating facility in the Magic Valley has been met with almost unanimous opposition from local residents. In fact, I have not talked with one Idahoan who is in favor of this project.

As Chairman of the House Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee, I authored language in the Fiscal Year 2024 House Interior and Environment Appropriations bill that requires that the independent, nonpartisan U.S. Government Accountability Office complete a report on potential adverse effects of the project on other legitimate land uses before the proposal can move forward.
