Floor Schedule | Committee Activity The Simpson StandardMarch 3rd, 2024 Dear [salutation],After a week of productive meetings in Idaho's Second District, I am pleased to be back in our nation's capital, working on behalf of all Idahoans. It was great to start this week by meeting with groups across Idaho. I had the pleasure of sitting down with groups like the Idaho American Legion to discuss veterans' issues and the Idaho Farm Bureau to discuss issues happening in Idaho agriculture. The Biden administration’s radical electric vehicle policies are driving up consumer costs, hurting American jobs, and emboldening China. This kind of heavy-handed government intervention sets a dangerous and costly precedent, and it leaves the American people footing the bill. I signed a letter urging President Biden to end his transition to electric vehicles. FYI: I am still releasing my What's Happening in Washington videos. The news dominating the headlines this week was the latest government funding deadlines. You can find my latest Washington update video on our appropriations process below.

The Simpson Standard

March 3rd, 2024

Dear [salutation],

After a week of productive meetings in Idaho's Second District, I am pleased to be back in our nation's capital, working on behalf of all Idahoans.

Supporting Idaho's Veterans

Idaho is home to more than 100,000 veterans, and one of my top priorities is ensuring our local heroes have the resources and care they deserve.

It was great to meet with officers from the Idaho American Legion this week and discuss how we can support Idaho's veterans. I appreciate their service to our nation and their continued work in helping Idaho's veteran community.

Fighting for Idaho's Agriculture

A few weeks ago, I joined the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation's annual National Affairs Conference to discuss ongoing issues Idaho's agriculture industry is facing.

This week, I had the opportunity to sit down with members of the Idaho Farm Bureau and continue these important conversations. As a proud supporter of the Idaho ag industry, I will continue to fight for the needs of producers, farmers, and our rural communities!

Standing Against Biden's Radical EV Push

I proudly joined my colleagues in sending this bicameral letter urging President Biden to withdraw his impulsive and costly transition to electric vehicles. As Chairman of the House Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee, I was proud to author a bill that blocked this ridiculous mandate. I will continue to push back against this administration’s rush to electrify vehicles.

Highlights of the letter can be found below or you can read the full letter here.
