Floor Schedule | Committee Activity The Simpson StandardFebruary 9th, 2025 Dear [salutation], It was a busy week here in DC! This week, the House voted on legislation to protect Americans from deadly fentanyl and to restore American energy dominance. I had a productive meeting with Idaho Sheriffs Chris Goetz and Sam Hulse to discuss border security and the ongoing fentanyl and opioid crisis. Thank you to these brave sheriffs for everything they do for our Idaho communities. As Chairman of the House Interior and Environment Subcommittee and serving as a senior member of the House Energy and Water Development Subcommittee, I have a unique opportunity to serve on two critical appropriations subcommittees that influence energy policy in the United States. I was proud to support the Protecting American Energy Production Act on the House floor.  Also, this week, we recognized National Girls and Women in Sports Day and celebrated the incredible female athletes nationwide who work hard and persevere in their sport every day. President Trump signed a commonsense executive order to keep men out of women's sports, and I fully support his action!

The Simpson Standard

February 9th, 2025

Dear [salutation],

It was a busy week here in DC!

Fighting Against the Fentanyl Crisis

This week, I supported the HALT Fentanyl Act on the floor. As President Trump takes decisive action to halt the flood of this deadly drug pouring across our southern border, Congress is also working to combat this epidemic, remove fentanyl from our streets, and give our brave law enforcement the tools they need to save American lives.

I back the blue and will continue to support bills that uphold the brave work of our law enforcement in Idaho and across the nation. Read more about the HALT Fentanyl Act here.

Protecting American Energy

The American people gave Republicans a mandate to unleash American-made energy, reduce energy costs, and restore energy independence.

Passing critical legislation to restore energy dominance and protect American energy production puts us back on the path toward energy independence. Read my full statement and more about this bill here.

Celebrating Girls & Women in Sports

I was honored to celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day this week—while wearing my Boise State tie—and show my support for the Boise State women's volleyball team!

I recently supported the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, legislation that protects the future of women's sports and upholds the promises of Title IX. I also fully support President Trump's Executive Order on Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports.
