Floor Schedule | Committee Activity The Simpson StandardMarch 30th, 2025 Dear [salutation], After a productive week last week in Idaho's Second District, it is great to be back in DC working on behalf of Idahoans. This week, the House passed two Congressional Review Act resolutions that will reverse two Biden-era regulations that have increased costs and made America less competitive. We are working to make appliances and energy prices MORE affordable for small businesses and all Americans.  The first Idaho Industries Breakfast of 2025 was a great success! Thank you to everyone who joined us earlier this week. A special thanks to our fellow Idahoan and Chief of the United States Forest Service, Tom Schultz, for attending and providing a Forest Service update.  Last but not least...Mark your calendars! The Idaho Congressional Delegation will host our annual Service Academy Day on Saturday, April 12th. This event is excellent for young Idahoans and their families to learn about our nation's service academies.

Dear [salutation],

After a productive week last week in Idaho's Second District, it is great to be back in DC working on behalf of Idahoans. This week, the House passed two Congressional Review Act resolutions that will reverse two Biden-era regulations that have increased costs and made America less competitive. We are working to make appliances and energy prices MORE affordable for small businesses and all Americans.

What's Happening in Washington?

House Republicans are working to reverse the damage done by the Biden administration. That's why we are focusing on reversing the previous administration's burdensome regulations that have reduced Americans' ability to choose what product best fits their needs.

This week, the House passed the:

  • H.J. Res 24: this reverses a Department of Energy rule that imposes energy efficiency standards on walk-in coolers and freezers, which will lead to higher costs for taxpayers.
  • H.J. Res 75: this reveres a Department of Energy rule that sets stricter energy efficiency standards for commercial refrigerators, freezers, and refrigerator-freezers, which will lead to higher costs for taxpayers.

Great Chatting with Fellow Idahoan and Forest Service Chief, Tom Schultz!

I was thrilled to hear the news that Tom Schultz would be the 21st Chief of the Forest Service. With over 25 years of land management experience, I am confident that Tom Schultz is the right person for the job!

Enhancing forest health and improving management is critical for wildfire suppression efforts and protecting communities and forests. As Chairman of the House Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee, which oversees funding for the Forest Service, I look forward to working together on these efforts.
