It is March! And Congress is marching forward and getting critical work done in DC. This week, the House passed the Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Resolution. I am encouraged that House Republicans have taken the first crucial step in this reconciliation process, laying the groundwork for ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ to enact President Trump’s FULL agenda. It was an honor to preside over the House for this vote!

It was also a busy week for the House Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee, which I chair. We held multi-day hearings that brought together Tribal members from across the nation to testify on issues and policy priorities. It was an honor to welcome all the distinguished Tribal elders and leaders.

It's time to axe the death tax! This punishing and burdensome estate tax has crushed Idaho family farms, ranches, and small businesses for too long. I am pleased to announce that I have recently cosponsored the Death Tax Repeal Act, legislation that would repeal the death tax and protect Idahoans from devastating tax hikes.

Laying the Groundwork for

‘One Big Beautiful Bill’

The House Republican Budget Resolution lays out a path to advance President Trump's full America First policy agenda by:

Securing our border
Restoring American energy independence
Strengthening America's military
Preventing tax hikes

Tribal Public Witness Hearings

The House Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee spent Tuesday through Thursday listening to Tribes from around the nation and some of the issues they face. We deeply appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from numerous Tribes and Tribal organizations across Indian Country.

These hearings are incredibly important. Indian Country has been and will continue to be a bipartisan priority for this subcommittee. You can read more about these hearings here.
