Dear [salutation],
It was another great week in Idaho's Second District! I was honored to be a keynote speaker for the Energy Communities Alliance's New Nuclear forum. We had a great conversation about moving nuclear projects forward.
Also, this week, I had the opportunity to visit the Idaho National Laboratory with my friend and colleague, Rep. Celeste Maloy. She serves with me on the House Appropriations Committee as my Vice Chair of the Interior and Environment Subcommittee. We also serve together on the Energy and Water Subcommittee, which is critical for labs like the Idaho National Laboratory.
Idaho's abundance of parks, forests, and public lands makes our state a wonderful place to live, work, and play. Public lands were set aside for public use, and we have a responsibility to ensure that future generations can enjoy the same benefits we sometimes take for granted today. I am pleased to cosponsor the Public Lands in Public Hands Act, a bill that would maintain public access to public land by banning the sale or transfer of most public lands by the Department of the Interior and the U.S. Forest Service. You can read more about this bill below.
