Dear [salutation],
“Life doesn’t come with a manual, it comes with a mother.” Happy Mother's Day to all the incredible moms out there! Your love, strength, and endless support make the world a better place.
Appropriations season is kicking off! It was great to hear from Department of Energy Secretary Wright earlier this week as he testified before the Energy and Water Development Appropriations Subcommittee. I had the opportunity to ask Secretary Wright directly about the future of nuclear energy under the Trump administration.
It was great joining the Launch of the Bipartisan Public Lands Caucus this week, a caucus where I was recently named Vice Chair. As a lifelong Idahoan and Chairman of the House Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee, I have worked long and hard to protect Idahoans’ way of life by preserving access to Idaho’s public lands while ensuring the federal land management agencies are good neighbors. I look forward to continuing this work in this new role.
Also, this week, I was proud to join a bipartisan group of members of Congress to reintroduce a bill to address the agriculture workforce crisis. The Farm Workforce Modernization Act would make meaningful reforms to the H-2A visa program and establish a strong, legal immigration workforce for agricultural producers. You can read more about this bill below.
