Happy Sunday, September 15th! Today marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month. This month, we celebrate the countless contributions made by Hispanic Americans in our communities in Idaho and nationwide and honor the legacy of generations who have helped make this country great.

Since President Biden and VP Kamala Harris took office, their failed appeasement foreign policies have destroyed our standing on the world stage and have emboldened adversarial nations like China. This week, the House brought several critical bills to the floor that combat the threat of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and restore the strength of the United States.

Wheels down in Boise this weekend! Welcoming some of my Western Caucus colleagues to the beautiful Gem State was a pleasure. We had a productive field tour and policy forum and dove into the key issues affecting Idaho and the West. Be sure to check out more below.

Combatting the Threat of Communist China

The CCP presents a significant threat to American values, American universities, and American national security. I was proud to vote in favor of a series of bills to counter the CCP and strengthen our national security.

Some Legislation the House PASSED this week:

Protecting American Agriculture from Foreign Adversaries Act
- This legislation will ensure that foreign purchases of American farmland are thoroughly scrutinized and that American agricultural assets are safeguarded from foreign adversaries.
DHS Restrictions on Confucius Institutes and Chinese Entities of Concern Act
- This legislation prohibits the Department of Homeland Security from providing any funds to a United States institution of higher education that has a relationship with the CCP.
End Chinese Dominance of Electric Vehicles in America Act of 2024
- This legislation prevents the CCP from receiving any taxpayer dollars from subsidies for electric vehicles created by the Biden-Harris Inflation Reduction Act.

Welcome to Beautiful Boise!

Just wrapped up an incredibly successful trip, welcoming some Western Caucus colleagues to the Gem State!

Among our critical agriculture, permitting, and wildfire panel discussions, we had the opportunity to attend the opening day of Fall Flights at the World Center for Birds of Prey and spend the day at the National Interagency Fire Center. Many thanks to everyone who came to Boise!
