The Simpson Standard

January 19th, 2025

Dear [salutation],

Tomorrow is the day! President Trump will return to the Oval Office and continue his agenda to Make America Great Again. House Republicans are ready to work with President Trump to deliver solutions for the American people. We came into the 119th Congress prepared to pass bills that reverse the damage done over the last four years and provide the prosperity Americans voted for in November.

From the border to sports, the Left's woke and open-border policies are putting American women at risk. This week, the House voted on two critical bills that take action to protect women and girls. I proudly supported the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act and the Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act. Watch my latest What's Happening in Washington here.

Also, this week, I announced my House Appropriations Committee assignments for the 119th Congress. I will remain as Chairman of the House Interior and Environment Subcommittee and continue to serve as a member of the House Energy and Water Development Subcommittee and the Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Subcommittee. Protecting Women's Sports

In recent years, we have seen brave women take a stand as leading voices in the fight to protect the integrity of female athletes. There is no debate—biological men should never be competing in women's sports.

This is a matter of fairness, not controversy, and the overwhelming majority of Americans agree. I was proud to support the commonsense Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act to protect the future of women's athletics and uphold the promise of Title IX. Read more about the bill here.

Appropriations Subcommittee Assignments

I am honored to continue to serve as Chairman of the House Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee, and I thank Chairman Cole for his support. This chairmanship allows me to fight for Idahoans' interests and champion priorities vital to the West.

As we begin the 119th Congress, I look forward to working directly with the Trump administration on legislation that will unleash American production, lower energy costs, and protect critical programs vital to states and local communities. I remain committed to working alongside my colleagues on the House Appropriations Committee in crafting fiscally responsible legislation to get our nation back on track. You can learn more about these subcommittees here.
