Earlier this week was World Nuclear Energy Day! In Idaho, we know a little something about nuclear energy. Our great state and the Idaho National Laboratory have led the way in powering the future.

Also, in Idaho, we understand how significant canals are to our irrigation and agriculture. Many western canals, including the New York Canal in Boise, are considered urban canals of concern and need repairs. That's why I am excited to announce that I have introduced a bill to address urban canal repairs. You can read more about this bipartisan legislation below.

Last but not least, the House passed legislation this week that extends acute hospital care at home to lower costs, improve care, and expand access for seniors nationwide. I was a proud cosponsor of this legislation and thrilled to see it pass the House unanimously.

Nuclear Energy Renaissance

As a longtime supporter of INL, I'm thrilled by the nuclear renaissance our country is experiencing.

It was especially fitting to meet with INL Director Dr. Wagner on World Nuclear Energy Day - it's always a pleasure discussing how Idaho is at the forefront!

Urban Canal Modernization Act

We must address urban canal repairs to protect Idahoans and Westerners’ way of life. The substantial urban growth around irrigation canals has created challenges and poses a threat to communities nearby.

It’s well past time we act on these concerns. The Urban Canal Modernization Act does just that by maintaining safety, expanding accessibility, and providing additional tools to ensure these crucial repairs get completed. You can read more about this bill here.

Hospital Inpatient Services Modernization Act

I was pleased to see the House pass the bipartisan Hospital Inpatient Services Modernization Act - legislation I was proud to cosponsor. Over the summer, I visited St. Luke's in Boise to discuss their successful "Hospital at Home" program.

This legislation ensures hospitals like St. Luke's can continue serving families and providing critical services to the people of Idaho.
