National Farmers Day 2021

Idaho's past, present, future are tied to agriculture!

I feel a strong responsibility to ensure that Idaho's agriculture industry can continue to thrive now and into the future.

We depend on agriculture to feed and clothe our nation and the world - thank you to Idaho's farmers and ranchers who do that better than anyone else!

Validation of CEI Cyber Security Program

The College of Eastern Idaho was recently designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the National Security Administration. Congratulations to CEI on this impressive designation given by the NSA. It’s crucial that students in Eastern Idaho have opportunities to study cyber security and I applaud CEI for their hard work in putting this program together.

Idaho has long been a leader in cyber security development, and this is a great step in improving this important legacy. Cyber security will continue to be an important part of strengthening our defenses against threats to the United States.

Biden's Economic Woes

Americans are spending about 20% more while making less thanks to record levels of inflation.

Many of you can expect to pay an average of $175 more per month on basic needs like food and fuel. Yet Biden administration officials will call your concerns about inflation "high class problems."

Inflation is real and is creating hardships for most Americans. Suggesting anything else is out of touch.

In addition, the U.S. national debt officially crossed the threshold of $28 Trillion this week. Thanks to President Biden and the Democrats spending plans, we could see our debt increase beyond $30 Trillion by this time next year. This is reckless.

Idahoans have made it clear that that growing government and saddling our children and grandchildren with debt are unacceptable. If we want to improve economic conditions in this country, Congress must act more responsibly in the short-term.

This means drastically reducing discretionary spending and more importantly, reforming entitlement programs, which are the major drivers of our debt, and fundamentally reforming our tax code.  It also means passing a balanced budget Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
