A majority of Americans agree: don't use tax dollars to pay for abortions. I have always been a supporter of the Hyde Amendment and will do all I can to preserve this life-saving amendment.
Yesterday, House Democrats on the Appropriations Committee tried to repeal this important bipartisan amendment. I spoke in support of the Hyde Amendment and against the Democrats efforts.
They may have the right to donate to organizations that support abortion - but they don't have the right to force me, someone who believes that abortion is morally wrong, to fund abortions. That is WRONG.

Idaho Projects Move Through Appropriations Process
"I am grateful for the opportunity to have a more direct role in supporting the communities in my district rather than leaving funding decisions up to bureaucrats in the Biden Administration."
Nearly $24 million in funding for 8 projects in Idaho's Second Congressional District was included at my request in various Appropriations bills for funding during the Fiscal Year 2022. I will continue to work hard to see these beneficial projects for Idaho come to fruition.

Wildfire Risk Increases
Severe drought in Idaho has led to an early start to the wildfire season. With extreme conditions and no relief in sight, it is important that we work together to prevent wildfires.
An important step we can all take to prevent unintentional fire starts is to KNOW BEFORE YOU GO by researching the fire restrictions and fire danger of any area you plan to travel to.
