Idaho Overdose Awareness Day

This week, Governor Brad Little declared August 31 as "Overdose Awareness Day."

Drug overdoses are the leading cause of death for Americans between the ages of 18 and 45. Through 2021, 353 Idahoans died from drug overdoses - fentanyl accounting for a large part of these deaths.

While recognizing the impact overdose has had on many Idaho communities and families, it is important to acknowledge the fact that many of these illicit drugs find their way to Idaho from an uncontrolled southern border. I am committed to finding solutions that secure the border and protect our state - this issue will only become more severe until that happens.

In the event of a wildfire near you, take some time to prepare yourself by reviewing wildfire safety practices. These can include gathering supplies, making plan, and learning emergency skills.

In the District

President Biden is sticking to his anti-gun agenda. In addition to radical policies, he is using stricter enforcement by DOJ and ATF to threaten the livelihood of good, law-abiding business owners like Paul in Soda Springs.

I was glad to visit with him at his shop and reaffirm my commitment to defending 2nd Amendment rights.

Met up with an old friend, Governor Kempthorne, and the incredible artist John Horejs to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the SNRA!
