Hydropower is one of the best energy sources we have - it is clean, reliable, and more valuable than ever as we seek to reduce carbon emissions.
Endless litigation in the Northwest jeopardizes the value hydropower provides to our communities.
Key tenets of this concept seek to prevent the "slippery slope" of removing other mainstream dams. This proposal would:
- lock in ALL major dams by extending their licenses from 35-50 years
- halt litigation related to the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and National Environmental Policy Act for 35 years
