Floor Schedule | Committee Activity The Simpson StandardAugust 24th, 2025 Dear [salutation], It was a busy week here in Idaho's Second District! The August District Work Period has been very productive so far, including countless meetings with groups, businesses, and constituents. From Eastern Idaho to Boise, I always enjoy touring the district with Idahoans on the ground! This week, I spent time on the ground in Idaho Falls, Soda Springs, Blackfoot, and Boise. I appreciated having opportunities such as joining Neal and Julie on the Neal Larson Show, meeting with local elected officials, and visiting sites critical to our state's history, to name a few.  REMINDER: House Republicans had one chance—and we delivered. We passed President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill, which is now the Law of the Land. This bill is a WIN for the economy, border security, energy, and the American worker. Most importantly, the One Big Beautiful Bill is a WIN for America!

The Simpson Standard

August 24th, 2025

Dear [salutation],

It was a busy week here in Idaho's Second District!

Speaking with the Blackfoot Chamber

It was great meeting with the Blackfoot Chamber and providing a DC update on the common-sense legislation House Republicans have passed, like the One Big Beautiful Bill, to deliver on our mandate.

The One Big Beautiful Bill is a win for Blackfoot, a win for Idaho, and a win for America!

Visiting the Bear River Massacre Site

While driving through Idaho's Second District, my staff and I stopped at the Bear River Massacre Site.

While at the battle site, we listened and learned the stories of the hundreds of Shoshone people who lost their lives. The memorial site honors their legacies, and we will forever remember their sacrifice.

Touring Soda Springs

I enjoyed touring Soda Springs with Soda Springs City Council members, Caribou County Commissioners, and Idaho State Legislators earlier this week. We had productive conversations about the state of the city and future plans.

I recently advanced funding for the Soda Springs US-30 Reconstruction Project. This project will provide essential infrastructure improvements, enhancing public safety. I am proud to advocate for this project that will bring necessary improvements and benefit the people of Soda Springs and throughout the state. You can read more about this project here.
