Last week the House considered and passed S.47, the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013.  It passed by a vote of 286-138 with the support of Congressman Simpson.  The bill reauthorized grant programs directed toward victims of domestic violence for an additional five years.  After failure to find bipartisan consensus on how to avert the sequester, the House did not vote on a sequester replacement bill.  The across the board cuts went into effect on Friday.
