Veterans Day

Veterans Day is a solemn but celebratory holiday that allows us to remember the countless veterans who have served our country. Idahoans are proud of our veterans, whose sacrifices have earned our lasting gratitude. Thank you.
Just as veterans and their families have served our nation, Americans must also remember them in their time of need. Helping our veterans is a priority of both myself and my staff. In each of my offices across the 2nd Congressional District, veterans can find caseworkers ready to help them navigate federal benefits and work with them to resolve any issues.

Celebrating the Achievements of First-Generation College Students

Nationally, one-third of people enrolled at a university or college are considered first-generation students. As a young student, I learned that first-generation students often face unique challenges that make the pursuit of their educational goals more difficult.
Throughout my time in Congress, I have been committed to improving educational access for Idahoans by supporting programs, like TRIO, that aid first-generation students as they prepare for diverse careers.
This week I co-sponsored a bipartisan resolution to designate Nov. 8th as "National First-Generation College Celebration Day" to recognize the grit and determination these pioneers display as they achieve their educational goals.
