Food security is national security and the labor challenge facing our ag industry is negatively impacting the food supply chain.

We passed the Farm Workforce Modernization Act in the House — now it’s time for the Senate to do its part to keep our families fed and our shelves stocked.

Recognizing 75 Years, Idaho Farm Bureau Insurance

This week I was happy to present Idaho Farm Bureau CEO Todd Argall and President Bryan Searle a copy of the Congressional Record commemorating Idaho Farm Bureau's 75th anniversary. 

Over the last 75 years, Farm Bureau has been actively contributing to the health and prosperity of Idaho’s communities. As an active corporate citizen, Farm Bureau has been a positive force in Idaho by sponsoring Christmas in the Night Skies, Relay for Life, Salute to Idaho Veterans, Elevate Leadership Summit, and the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument among other causes and events over the last 75 years.

I join their customers, clients, and our community, in honoring Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Idaho for 75 years of exceptional service to our great state.

I enjoyed visiting the Disaster Response Complex and learning about the variety of trainings offered there. This is a valuable resource for emergency responders across the state and nation.

Our law enforcement officers do important but challenging work, and they deserve our support. I was glad to visit with Idaho Falls Police Chief Bryce Johnson, along with Bud Cranor (Idaho Falls Mayor Chief of Staff) and Annake Scholes (IFPD Grant Manager), to discuss the great work they do to protect our communities. I am proud to "Back the Blue" and will continue to support them in Congress.

Thank you to Mr. Carter and his senior government class at Snake River High for allowing me to visit with you this week. These are bright kids with great questions! Our future is in great hands.

I enjoyed my visit to the Savage Railport - Southern Idaho located in Pocatello. This intermodal terminal benefits Idaho's farmers by providing dependable transportation for agricultural commodities and opening opportunities to world markets.
