National Dairy Month

This week we recognized World Milk Day and the beginning of National Dairy Month, an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of dairy farmers across the country. 

Idaho is the nation's third largest dairy producer in the country (with the largest per capita production), cementing the importance of this sector to Idaho's agricultural industry and the state economy. As the proud co-chair of the Congressional Dairy Caucus, I am dedicated to supporting Idaho Dairy and to help ensure that they have the resources they need to continue providing delicious and nutritious dairy productions. 

That is why I am an original cosponsor of the Dairy Pride Act and continually lead efforts to ensure accurate labeling occurs within the dairy industry. 

The Congressional App Challenge

Since 2013, the Congressional App Challenge has provided the bright and young minds in tech with an opportunity to put their skills to the test. 

Starting June 15th, middle and high school students from across Idaho's 2nd Congressional District can register to participate in the challenge. From there, it is up to the student or a team of students to create an app and submit it before the November 1st Deadline. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing what Idaho's students create. I hope you will encourage the students you know to participate.
