Simpson Led Efforts to Rebuke Biden Administration’s Misguided Efforts on Sage-Grouse Recovery

Wildfires, drought, and invasive grasses all pose the biggest threats to our sage grouse populations today. Addressing these immediate threats should be the focus – not harming our rural communities by locking up land.

I will continue to advocate against the federal government imposing sweeping changes to sage grouse land management plans that undercut successful state-managed plans.

Leadership in Nuclear Energy (LINE) Commission

This week I spoke with the Governor's Leadership in Nuclear Energy (LINE) Commission to discuss the news from Congress, my outlook on the federal budget process, and the work on Capitol Hill to support nuclear energy.

Like many Idahoans, I am concerned about the energy future of the United States and I firmly believe that the revitalization of the nuclear industry is critical to meeting our energy security needs in the future.

As Ranking Member of the Energy and Water Development Appropriations Subcommittee, I will continue to work with my colleagues to support nuclear energy research and to advance initiatives that promote nuclear energy in Idaho and throughout the country.

$30 Trillion National Debt and Rampant Inflation

On February 1st, 2022, the U.S. National Debt surpassed $30 trillion for the first time - creating unsustainable debt-to-GDP levels.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the national debt has increased by $7 trillion to the national debt. Some of this has come as the result of important COVID relief packages such as the CARES Act. Democrats, however, continue to pursue unnecessary spending through the Build Back Better Act and other legislation. Idahoans expect fiscal responsibility from their Government and it's time Congress take this debt crisis seriously.

In addition to soaring National Debt, the compounding economic challenges from reckless spending and supply chain disruptions are creating crippling inflation for American families. For the first time in 40 years, the annual inflation rate increased by 7.5%. This means you are paying more for just about everything.
