On that day, violent extremists sought to destroy our way of life - but they did not know how resilient the American people and the American spirit are. I am constantly inspired by the memories of true heroes who - on that day and for many days after - ran to America's defense. My hope is that we never forget the lives lost, the heroes who sacrificed, and the country that united together as a result of September 11th, 2001. AfghanistanOver the last several weeks, we watched a nightmare situation unfold in Afghanistan. Certainly, our troops could not stay in Afghanistan forever - but there was no reason for the chaos that ensued. That chaos can only be attributed to the lack of preparation and leadership from the Biden Administration.Our office is engaged in efforts to help Idahoans and our Afghan allies safely evacuate Afghanistan.
