Dear [salutation],

You might have heard a little something about government funding this week. While continuing resolutions are never an ideal way to fund the government—trust me when I say CRs are appropriators' worst nightmare—not passing a government funding bill would have disastrous consequences and be costly for Americans. Let me be clear: government shutdowns are always bad politics and policy, so getting this bill across the finish line was critical to keep the government working.

The American people voted for strong leadership in November, and with strong leadership comes a top-notch cabinet. President Trump has brought an outstanding team to unlock the Golden Age of America. I was pleased to meet with some of the President's exceptionally talented team earlier this week.

Also, this week, I reintroduced the bipartisan Action for Dental Health Act for reauthorization with Rep. Kelly. This bill will continue to support organizations that provide oral health care to underserved populations, especially seniors and children living in rural communities.

Keeping the Government Open for Americans

Passing this continuing resolution keeps the government open for hardworking Americans while allowing Congress and the Trump administration to maintain momentum and deliver America First policies that the American people overwhelmingly voted for.

Proud to Work with the Trump Administration

As Chairman of the House Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee, I look forward to working directly with Secretary Burgum as we slash burdensome regulations and promote American values through President Trump's agenda!

President Trump made an excellent choice in nominating Gail Slater as Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust—it was an honor to attend her swearing-in ceremony. Gail is a dear friend, and I look forward to seeing all her accomplishments!

It was also great to see Vice President Vance as he joined House Republicans earlier this week! Among many America First priorities, House Republicans remain committed to securing our borders, strengthening our military, and unleashing energy independence.

Action for Dental Health Act

Reauthorizing the Action for Dental Health Act is essential to breaking down barriers to oral care, promoting disease prevention, and improving oral health education. I look forward to getting this important bill across the finish line and sending it to President Trump's desk.
