Congressman Simpson is 191 miles along the virtual route which puts him in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. The area is known as “America’s County” due to the heroic actions of 40 brave passengers aboard Flight 93 who overtook the cockpit from terrorist hijackers and crash landed the aircraft in Somerset County, saving countless lives on September 11, 2001. The National Park Service manages the Flight 93 National Memorial in Pennsylvania where visitors can pay respects to the heroes of Flight 93.  As we prepare to celebrate our independence on Monday it is important to remember and honor the sacrifices that were made throughout American history.
