Supporting Idaho Agriculture

Despite the challenges of the last few years, a recent Post Register article shows that the Idaho agriculture industry is as strong as ever.

I am proud to represent Idaho Ag in Congress, and I consider supporting it among my most important responsibilities. Here are a few things that I have done during the 117th Congress to support our iconic industry:

I fought to restore the prohibition against listing sage grouse under the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
I reintroduced the Farm Workforce Modernization Act, which will make meaningful reforms to the H-2A agricultural guest worker program and will provide economic stability to our rural communities.
In both the fiscal year 2022 and fiscal year 2023 spending bills, I secured Community Project Funding (CPF) for several projects important to Idaho's agriculture communities. These projects include improving decades-old infrastructure at the Dubois Sheep Station, establishing the Idaho Grain & Ag Center and the Jerome Education and Training Center, and creating the Idaho Center for Agriculture, Food, and Environment (CAFE) innovative dairy center to carry out research in the sustainability of agriculture in Idaho, among others.

Hometown: Rigby, ID

Goals/Dreams: I want to go into Neurology and be a surgeon or researcher. Being in an environment where I can constantly learn and strive to improve the world is very important to me.

Fun fact: Horror movies and true crime podcasts are my favorite. I am obsessed with all things macabre and strange. I probably know more about nuclear disasters, caving accidents, and mysterious disappearances than is healthy.

Fun fact #2: I would love to have a pilot’s license. I have a passion for aviation and the freedom that it brings. My family has flown for decades before I was born, and it has been an unshakeable part of childhood.

In the District

I enjoyed visiting the new education expansion project at the World Center of Birds of Prey and learning how the Peregrine Fund is saving raptors around the world. I especially enjoyed seeing Rosa, a Northern Aplomado Falcon who is benefiting from the program.

I am honored to receive the US Chamber ‘Advocate for American Business’ award today at the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce. Business in Idaho is booming — and local Chambers of Commerce play a big part by connecting and supporting business in their communities.
