Judge Blocks Biden WOTUS Rule in 26 States

The Biden Administration should not have issued their expansive and overreaching rule on WOTUS while a case is currently before the Supreme Court.

I’m glad to see the rule blocked in 26 states while we wait for a decision from SCOTUS.

Lava Ridge Wind Project Comment Period

In February, I worked with my colleagues in the Idaho Congressional Delegation to extend the public comment period by 30 days. This extension comes to a close on April 20, 2023.

"The public comment period provides an opportunity for stakeholders and interested parties to provide feedback to the BLM on the draft EIS analysis, data sources, analytical methods, action alternatives, and mitigation measures." The BLM will then respond to substantive comments during the creation of the Final Draft EIS.

Simpson Congratulates 2023 Congressional Art Competition Winner

Please join me in congratulating Abigail Armstrong from Buhl High School on winning the 2023 Congressional Art Contest for Idaho's 2nd Congressional District. Her artwork, a watercolor titled Marble Fox, will represent our District while on display in the U.S. Capitol Building.

I am always impressed by the talents of young Idahoans who participate in this competition. I applaud their efforts, their love for Idaho, and the unfailing support from art teachers and the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho each year. Congratulations to every student who participated, and I look forward to seeing Abigail’s artwork displayed in the United States Capitol this summer.

This Week in Idaho

I am grateful to National Endowment for the Humanities Chair Shelly Lowe for joining me on a tour of Chief Tahgee Elementary School. The purpose of this school is to help every student read, write, and think in both English and Shoshone. Thank you for visiting with us today and sharing your campus with us!

Idaho is full of many talented youth artists! It was a privilege to host the 2023 Congressional Art Contest Awards Reception last night in Idaho Falls. Thank you to each of the 82 student artists for participating in this year's contest.

The Museum of Idaho in Idaho Falls is a great educational resource for many people across the state and the nation. I enjoyed visiting with NEH Chair Lowe, the Idaho State Historical Society, Idaho Humanities Council, and others while on a tour of the Museum.
