I am thrilled to return as Chairman of the House Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee, as well as to my roles on the Energy and Water and Labor-H subcommittees. From continuing to ensure funding for public lands agencies to improve forest health, preventing an ESA sage-grouse listing, working to fund advanced nuclear research at INL, or prioritizing domestic critical mineral production, I look forward to the work of the FY24 appropriations process. I remain committed to working with my colleagues to craft legislation that successfully addresses the challenges facing our nation, including in my home state of Idaho, while balancing the need to reduce federal spending and scrutinize every tax dollar that is spent for the health of our economy.
These subcommittees have jurisdiction over funding for several agencies and programs critical to Idaho including the Department of Energy, the Department of the Interior, the Forest Service, the National Parks Service, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Bureau of Land Management, and the Department of Labor.
