Republicans are Delivering for Working Families

Families across Idaho and the nation are keeping more of their hard-earned money thanks to the largest tax cut for working and middle-class families in United States history. Just over two months ago, House Republicans sent President Trump’s full commonsense policy agenda to his desk, and now it’s the law of the land.

This policy agenda encompassed everything the President ran on and won. From border security to growing the economy and unleashing energy independence to bolstering national security, House Republicans and President Trump delivered win after win – including putting money back in the pockets of hardworking families.

The legacy media and the Left have made a lot of noise about what is in the bill, and I’d like to help set the record straight and debunk some of their lies.

Make no mistake, most of the key provisions are common-sense 80/20 issues. Do you support giving our brave border patrol agents the resources they need to secure our southern border? Do you support lowering energy prices and reducing government spending? Do you support eliminating taxes on overtime, tips, and Social Security?

The Working Families Tax Cut delivers on all of these issues, including provisions that will boost GDP, increase wages, and create millions of jobs. Americans experienced a booming economy during President Trump’s first term, and this legislation puts us on the right track to get our economy growing again.

The results are real for Idaho families. Without these tax cuts for working families, Idahoans would have faced a 24% tax hike in the New Year. Instead, a typical Idaho family of four will keep an estimated $12,200 more every year.

Republicans also made lower tax rates and brackets, the double Standard Deduction, and the enhanced Child Tax Credit permanent. So that you can keep more of your hard-earned money.

The punishing and burdensome death tax has crushed Idaho family farms, ranches, and small businesses for too long. Thankfully, the tax cuts for working families protect two million family farms by raising the death tax exemption – making it easier to pass farms to the next generation.

Life was unaffordable under the Biden administration. Now, hardworking families are looking to keep more money in their pockets and pay less in taxes. These are meaningful results for parents who have been trying to make ends meet over the last four years.

Economic relief seems to mean very little to my colleagues on the other side of the aisle, as every single Democrat in Congress voted against these permanent tax cuts and bigger paychecks for American families. They voted against working families. Republicans voted with them.

What this bill is not: a tax break for billionaires – how many billionaires do you know working jobs that receive tips or overtime pay? How many billionaires do you know who are waitresses, welders, nurses, or truck drivers?

Don’t listen to the media or the Left here. These tax cuts weren’t about billionaires - they were about the hardworking Americans who are the backbone of our economy.

Republicans promised to implement policies that lower costs, raise wages, and strengthen our economy. That’s exactly what we did through the Working Families Tax Cut.

While Democrats attempt to distort reality, Americans will see the truth in their paychecks.

Bigger paychecks. Lower taxes. A stronger America. These are the issues Americans care about, and that’s what it means to deliver for working families.
