Help with a Federal Agency

  • Are you experiencing a problem with a federal program, rule, regulation, or administrative decision?
  • Unable to receive an answer or find information from a federal agency in timely manner?

As your representative in Congress, I can directly address your concerns to the federal agency in questions. While I cannot force an agency to act in your favor, I can ask the agency to give your problem the “full and fair consideration consistent with applicable law and regulations”.

If your situation requires urgent help such as an expedited passport request or ill family member in foreign country, please call my nearest District Office of immediate assistance.

Please read the following before submitting your request:

  • If your issue concerns a state agency or local government, please contact the appropriate elected state or local official with jurisdiction over the matter. To find your state representative, please click here.
  • Members of Congress cannot help in legal matters due to the U. S. Constitution which separates the powers between the legislative and judicial branches of the government. In these instances, you should speak with an attorney.

To request assistance:

The Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. § 552a) requires that Members of Congress or their staff have written authorization before they can obtain information about an individual's case. Click on the button below and complete the Privacy Release form. The privacy release can be completed on computer, tablet or cell phone.
