Simpson to Announce Congressional Art Competition Winners

Idaho Falls, ID – Tomorrow, Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson will announce the winners of the annual Congressional Art Competition for Idaho’s 2nd Congressional District.  This competition is open to high school students across Idaho and encourages Idaho’s aspiring artists to showcase their talents to the public.  All students who entered the competition are invited to attend tomorrow’s reception at The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho (330 S. Capitol Idaho Falls, ID) at 6 pm.

As an avid painter himself, Congressman Simpson takes great pride in showcasing the artistic talents of young Idahoans.  The winner will be announced during tomorrow’s reception and will be awarded a trip to Washington, D.C. where their artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.

“With Idaho’s picturesque landscapes, majestic wildlife, and incredible people, there are several things that attract people to the Gem State.  The winning artwork reflects what draws so many people to Idaho and makes it one of the fastest growing states in the nation,” said Simpson.

All artwork submitted to the competition will be showcased at The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho through April 30, 2022. For more information about the Congressional Art Competition, please contact Josh Sorenson at josh.sorensen@mail.house.gov.
