Simpson Scores A+ from Firearm Association

Washington, D.C. – Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson today announced his A+ rating from the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), a trade association for the firearms industry.

A+ is the highest rating a member of Congress can achieve and is based on seven roll call votes, cosponsorship of several bills NSSF supports and non-cosponsorship of several bills that NSSF opposes, as well as leadership on industry-related issues, public statements, committee work, floor statements, letters led and signed supporting a key issue, and more during the 117th Congress, the report notes.

Congressman Simpson cosponsored H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2021, which would provide law-abiding citizens the right to conceal carry and travel freely between states without worrying about conflicting state codes; H.R. 3101, the Repealing Illegal Freedom and Liberty Excises (RIFLE) Act to remove the excise tax on the transfer of firearms; signed letters to ATF on silencer regulations; and stands firmly opposed to assault weapons bans.

“Despite Democrats’ attacks on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens, I will continue to stand up for safe and legal gun ownership in America,” said Simpson. “I intend to maintain my 100% record of support for Second Amendment rights and am proud to receive this rating from the industry experts.”
