Simpson Supports the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act

Washington, D.C. – Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson today applauded the passage of H.R. 26, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, legislation Simpson has historically cosponsored.

H.R. 26, first introduced by Representative Ann Wagner (R-MO), would ensure that a child who survives a failed abortion be given the same care as any other child born alive at the same gestational age and would create criminal penalties for health care providers who fail to do so.

“After House Democrats’ continuous efforts to block this legislation, I welcome Speaker McCarthy’s prompt action to bring this bill to the floor,” said Simpson. “As nationwide debates on the topic of abortion continue to rage, this bill will protect the most basic and inherent human right to life—a cause I will always lend my support to.”
