Simpson Appoints Nikki Wallace as Chief of Staff, Craig Quarterman as District Director

Washington, D.C. – Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson today named longtime aide and Idaho native Nikki Wallace as Chief of Staff, as Lindsay Slater is retiring from the House of Representatives.

Slater has been Simpson’s Chief of Staff for 23 years and will transition during the month of March.  “Lindsay has done a tremendous job for our state.  Over the years, he has worked tirelessly on the Boulder-White Clouds, the Wildfire Funding Fix, the Great American Outdoors Act, and most recently the Columbia Basin Initiative,” said Simpson.  “Kathy and I appreciate all Lindsay has done for us over the years and we are very happy for Lindsay, Gail, and their family for his next opportunity.”

“Nikki has been with me since my first election and is my trusted advisor.  Over the years, she has worn several hats including Campaign Manager, Communications Director, and District Director.  I’m thrilled she is taking on this new challenge and know she is up to the task to represent my constituents and lead my staff,” said Simpson.

Craig Quarterman will take over as District Director.  “Craig has been my Natural Resources and Agriculture Director for almost six years and knows our district and issues well.  I’m excited for this opportunity for him and am confident he will excel in this new role,” said Simpson.

“I have always been proud of my staff,” said Simpson. “When I am home in Idaho, constituents thank me for the help my office provides in resolving issues with various federal agencies.  As Chairman of the Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee overseeing some of the agencies so critical to Idaho, it brings me great pleasure knowing the help my staff and I bring to Idahoans.  I am grateful to have Nikki and Craig in their new roles to achieve the important work ahead.”
