Simpson Statement on WOTUS Resolution to Override Biden Veto

Washington, D.C. – Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson today issued a statement on the House of Representative’s attempt to override President Biden’s veto of H.J. Res. 27 that would have nullified the recent Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineer (Corps) rule revising the definition of Waters of the United States (WOTUS).

“From the early days of the Obama Administration, I have taken every possible opportunity to stop expansive overreach of executive power relating to WOTUS.  We ought to be able to solve this problem and end the litigation and regulatory uncertainty for our rural property owners, farmers, and ranchers,” said Simpson.  “Despite the House failing to reach the necessary two-thirds majority to overturn President Biden’s veto, I want to assure the landowners of Idaho that this is not the end of the fight.”
