WASHINGTON— Today, Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson released the following statement in response to Idaho Governor Brad Little’s State of the State and Budget Address to kick off the 2024 Idaho legislative session. “Idaho’s balanced budget is a model of success for states nationwide,” said Rep. Simpson. “Under Governor Little’s leadership, Idaho has launched new statewide initiatives prioritizing low taxes and less government regulation, resulting in one of the strongest economies in America. Additionally, the Idaho State Legislature leads the way in consistently passing their annual fiscal budgets on time. As a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee and a proud cosponsor of a House joint resolution proposing a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution, I am working to make Washington, D.C. operate more like Idaho.” Rep. Simpson is a cosponsor of H.J.Res.12 - Proposing a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution of the United States. The full text of the joint resolution can be found here. |
