Rep. Simpson Votes to Fully Fund Veterans Health Care

WASHINGTON— Today, the United States House of Representatives passed the Fiscal Year 2024 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies bill. Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson voted in favor of this legislation. This bill fully funds veterans’ health care programs and benefits, supports national security, and exceeds the Department of Defense’s Military Construction budget request. “Today’s vote marks clear that House Republicans stand with our veterans,” said Rep. Simpson. “This bill honors our commitment to our nation’s heroes by fully funding veterans’ health care programs, benefits, and all other veterans’ related programs. I will always stand up for America’s veterans and ensure they have the benefits they’ve earned through their service and sacrifice to our country, and this legislation reaffirms that commitment.” Highlights of the bill include:
The FY24 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies bill keeps America’s promise to its veterans by fully funding veterans’ health care programs, benefits, and other critical VA programs. The measure was approved with a vote of 219 to 211, with every House Democrat voting no. This funding package will advance to the Senate for further consideration. |
